HITMEN TOURNAMENT Nov 2009

UPDATE

The Sin City Hitmen won their first tournament of the season this weekend, taking the CHE Gambler's Cup. The Hitmen began tournament play on shakey ground, losing to the Lavelle Red Devils (Quebec) 7-4 after being ahead 2-0 at the end of the 1st period. The next day, the Hitmen came back strong and pounded the Mallaig Lightning (Alberta) by a score of 7-2. The Hitmen then tied the Coral Jokers (Alberta) 3-3. The Red Devils then tied the Lightning, which set up a Sin City Hitmen / Lavelle Red Devils rematch in the championship game. The battle for the Gambler's Cup was a close, fast-paced see-saw battle, but in the end, the Hitmen prevailed by a score of 4-2 against a Red Devils team

Cute Blox

Okay, so yes I am making Christmas decorations already, to be truthful I have been planing Christmas since Aug. Last year Carrie made these really cute blocks for Halloween. So this year I had to give me them a try. I LOVE THEM, I think think they turned out pretty cute, and I can't wait until the day after thanks giving so I can start putting up all my Christmas decorations..

So yeah I did make one Halloween one. This purple is just perfect.. :) I think I am having to much fun doing these, and I am doing glass blocks next. Dannie if you read this, it's way easy I'll tell you how..
BOO! I love these cute blox.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! SEPT. 24, 2009

Okay, so this was on Moms Birthday.
For some reason Jake is holding a fake rat in his hand. I love that man, he always makes everyone else laugh. I am so pleased to have been able to marry into a great family, and have a great family. I love Jakes family. Happy Birthday, and I am glad we get to share them together.

Kyles HOME COMING !

Jakes's brother came home from serving a 2 yr mission over in Brazil. We all went to the airport to welcome him home. He arrived on Sept. 22,2009
Since he has been home, the boys have been going golfing on Saturday mornings. I haven't really hung out with him much. I believe he has adapted just fine to the world, and I know he served a good mission. We're all glad to have him home again.

SWEET THOUGHTS

Aren't these just beautiful?

So I worked late last night, and when Jake came to pick me up, he was waiting outside the car with a dozen roses..
He is the sweetest man ever, he bought them just because he wanted to do something nice. :)
Even when times are tough, I know I will always have a close friend and partner in him. I am so glad to have him in my life, and all the memories we have made and all the ones left to make.
I love him so, and I know he loves me.. :) I know I can go through anything because I will have him beside me..

WHAT A WEEKEND ! (in like a lion, out like a lamb)

I thought I have had off weekend before, but wow this one takes the prize.
Last night I was at Jakes moms, and I thought what the heck I'll get on Facebook, while Jakes and Chad are keeping Zombies from taking over.
As soon as I got on, Stephanie sent me a message saying my Dad has been in and accident.
She couldn't call me because she didn't have my new number.
I was like What, cause it was 2 am and my Dad goes to bed early so I thought I would have heard something about it.
Turns out, my Dad fell asleep at the wheel while he was coming home from getting Ice cream at Smiths. He took out a power line, and the car was completely crushed wrapped around it..
He is doing I ok I guess. He is pretty banged up, and has a brace on his knee, a sore head and stomach. He is lucky to be alive, let alone as well as he is.. Pretty pricey Ice cream...

Well, today we had dinner at Jakes Moms, After dinner Mom went to visit her old friend Jean who she is like a daughter to. No one has heard from her since Thursday so Mom went to take her dinner. When she got there, she found she found the Tv on and Jean in better place. We guess she went peacefully, she was sitting on the couch watching tv. I feel bad because I know she will be greatly missed, and me and Jake always kept pushing off going and seeing her. She loved Jake so much, and always would give Mom something to bring for Jake. She had so much spunk and was very loving. We'll keep all the memories and know she's in a better place..

So with all this wild weekend , I am going to go bowling with the girls and relax.. :)

4th July, it was great, a family bbq, volleyball in the pool, great times, and well fireworks..

I think everyone enjoyed the pool even the dogs :) lol

LONG TIME, Jakes Birthday June 29 2009

This was Jakes birthday cake, that as you can see he loved it, maybe a little to much.
I had to call everywhere to find someone who would put the Chicago Blackhawks logo on a cake...

OH, did I mention that before he would cut into the cake, he scrapped off the logo. Yes he saved it, it is still sitting in our freezer...

LOL, this was the best, this little pink bag first was used 3 times for Jakes birthday. It says O.M.G. It's ur Bday. (in pink with lil fake diamonds all over) Chad, and Josh bought Jake Call of Duty 4 and 5 for his birthday but gave it to him early.. So Chad went and found the game and put it in the bag.. LOL Everyone loved it cause well it was empty.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE !

My pet hamster...

Okay, so after a little over a month I needed a new pet.. We got this little pet last weekend :)
It is only about a month and half old. I only wanted a female and this little one was the nicest one at the pet store. All the others tried to nip at the guy, who was getting them out for me to look them over..
So I brought home my new little pet, with a pink house, a little sparkle ball for it to run around in, and named it Lily... So I played with it all week, took her out of the cage and all.. Much to my surprise last night I was playing with it and well, when she was running I noticed it wasn't a girl at all, but a boy... Jake told me I could take it back, but how could I do that, he is just to cute and I've already gotten attached. So now my poor little boy hamster lives in the fruitiest hamster house, but well I changed the name. Hester.. So here is my little hamster Hester who lives in little pink house for now..... :)

THEY WIN, THEY WIN ! ! !

THEY WIN ! ! !
May 27, 2009 - The Sin City Hitmen defeated rival Giuseppe's in the Las Vegas Ice Center League Championship game by a tally of 4-1. After falling behind early off a fluke goal which deflected high and bounced off goalie Dave Moran's back and into the net, the Hitmen tied the game on an unassisted blast from Darren Lach at the top of the circle, beating the Giuseppe's goalie on the high glove side. The Hitmen struck again when a Nick Silverman shot rebounded onto Jake Millett's stick, who pounded the puck into the net. The third Hitmen goal came when Jon Leleu picked up a loose puck on the boards and skated through the neutral zone, past a Guiseppe's defenseman, and rifled a wrist shot which rebounded off the goalie's pads, and onto Kevin Wrzisinski's stick, who put the puck away. Lucas Gjovig put the game away, winning a scrum in front of the Guiseppe's net, and lofting the puck into the back of the net.

YAY, hope they do it again next season...

HapPy BirThDaY ! ! !

WOW, Already 24 ! ! !
So, this was last week, on my Birthday.
I can't believe how fast time has gone. It feels just like yesterday that I turned 21.
Until this birthday I have never felt older, it's not like I feel old, but just older, I guess you could say. Haha Maybe it's because I saw how many candles where on the cake. I think we got lucky it didn't completely melt before I got to blow them out.
It was really nice, we went out to eat dinner with Jakes family and my close friend Kristen. Hung out for a little while to catch the end of the Blackhawks game that was on tv.. They obviously did not get the memo that I used a wish for them to win.... After the disappionting lose of that game, we went to Jakes final hockey game for this season it was for first place also but it had a much better outcome.. After a few hours of hockey we took off for some midnight bowling lol.. I love it, for me it's the best way to chill and have fun. I wish they had that in Utah..
As far as gifts, I got spoiled with gift cards to my favorate store, make up, and the only books I'll read haha all the twilight, along with cute tigger from Disney land.. Which I hope to be able to show some pictures in October :) (girls get away) :)
So I guess I am not that old yet, if my favorate things are still this stuff, and if I can stay out until 2am bowling and still get up at 9 right.. :)

The great escape 04 - 27 - 09

As most of you know I have had the sweetest little pet hamster for the past 2 and half years.
When I would come into our study I would make squeaky noises and she would come up to the closest corner of the cage and do it right back. We'd take her out and let her crawl all over us, and chill in our pockets. I think her favorite was sitting with Jake. As you can see for a hamster she was very photogenic, and loved being everywhere that we were.
Well, these last 3 days she was really sick, no eating, drinking or even moving. We thought she'd be gone within the first day, but my little fighter fought to stay.. I could not let her go, I held her for the better part of last night. At about 4:30 in the morning Jake told me I needed to go to bed, and to just lay her comfortably in her little cage. I did not want to let her go, and was not ready, but finally I felt she would be better laying in her little blankets, so I did. She was pretty much gone at this point. When I woke at 9:00 this morning she was in a better place.. I like to believe she fought until I was ready to let her go. I want to remember her as my unique little friend.
Her great escape..

A little over a month ago, I had her in her ball rolling around the office. I had stepped out for a moment and when I came back in, the ball was popped open. I was so worried, I could not find her for a few minutes, then I looked over by my photo box to see her chewing on the corner. She just stood up on her back legs and looked at me all sweet like I'm not doing anything wrong.

I would have to say the strangest thing I'd ever seen was when she played dead.
The first time she ever did this was at my apartment.
We had just came back and went to check up on her in the guest room. (yes she had her own room pretty much) She was halfway hanging half out of the tube, and was not breathing. I freaked out and got Jake of course, so to get to this tube you have to take apart almost her whole cage. Jake had about most the cage taken apart to try to get her lil body out of there. When he had the bars off she just backed out and started playing around as if nothing. We got use to this after a few times, but still was a little strange.

I'm glad she is in a better place, and lived a long full life, but she'll be missed..

My little guys

Monday morning before I left back to Vegas, I had to stop by and see my little guys.
I just love these two boys.
The little shirt Nick has on, I painted it and one for Zack but he liked his truck shirt better.
I brought one for them to put their hands on for me, Nick did, but little Zacky wasn't in the mood. So maybe they'll send it down to me :)

Utah Visit ( the indestructible becomes destructible)

Last weekend, I went up to visit my family.
When I got there late Friday night, me and my little sister
were catching up and laughing.
Our Mom came out and talked with us for a while, She looked fine
and was only really thirsty.
None of us though anything of it and continued on with our night.
The next morning was busy, moms blood sugar was in the 400, she gave herself a shot
which all the times before brings it down for her.
Me and Danielle were trying to work something out to find a prom dress, but I had
my nieces birthday party, so I told her we would go tomorrow.
I left for the party within that first hour I was there, I got one of
the worst texts someone could ever get.
Dads Cell We've taken your Mom to the hospital
Her blood sugar never went down but climbed higher into the 600.
(normal is 90 - 125)
She should not have even been able to function at that. Should have been dead,
or in a diabetic coma, the doctor said.
Now when you here these words about your own mother, who was just laughing with you
a few hours ago, it makes you think.
My Mother even when she was sick she would take care of us.
She was my indestructible, who was now destructible.
I had never known her to be in the hospital but for when she had us kids.
She stayed in ICU until late Sunday night when an elderly person needed, the care more
than my Mom. ( because they didn't have enough people to take care of her, in ICU)
As you can see I wasn't very fond of that idea, that they would move someone, because they didn't have enough people for that many patients.
Her blood sugar keep going up and down the while time she was there.
My Mother being her, wanted nothing more than to be left alone and to go home.
So finally on Monday morning, after her telling them to let her go, and them being short handed
they let her come home.
The doctors all said it was a close call.
Life is so fragile, we all hang by a tread never knowing how thin we make it.
You never wake up thinking, today feels like a good day to check into the hospital,
or I may get in a crash and die today, so love you guys.

No none of this ever crosses our minds, as we zip by each day.
My Mom gets a second chance, as does all of us.
I hope I can be a better person, and slow down a little to enjoy things and time
with my husband and family.

All you need is love

:) So for our one year anniversary, Jake got us tickets to see The Beatles Love :)
It was so amazing, I'm not a big fan of the Beatles but the show was done so
well, that I think anyone would enjoy it..
It's definitely worth the price .
We didn't get any pictures after the show because I thought there
were to many people and it was already pretty late.
( I guess we'll just have to go again )
After that we were going to stay in Primm but long story short.
After waiting 5 hours in a non moving line to check in,
we found out that they over booked, and we would have to wait until
people checked out before we could check in.. (This was at 5:30am)
So we left and went and stayed in Jean, which was nice :)
I can't believe it's already been a year !

One Year

Wow, already one year ! ! !
I can't believe it will be a year on the 21st, that I said " I do" to my best friend.
I don't know where the time has gone, it feels just like yesterday,
that I was counting down the days until I got to be Mrs. Millett :)
I still have the same butterflies every time that he kisses me
as I did before and through all the years that we dated.
I hope I have made it a good year for him, he has made it a wonderful year for me.
I am very blessed that we are still much in love, and that I have an amazing husband.
All I ask is to share many more years with him, and to always have him by side.

Cookies, cookies and more cookies ! !

See, I told you, cookies, cookies and more cookies...
What is up with all the cookies?
Well, it was a fund raiser for the girls, to go to girls camp.
Carrie is over girls camp, and well, she needed to bake over 200
of these cookies, so I helped.
After they were all baked, the young women came over to decorate
and these are just some of the cookies.
They ended up raising more than enough money to go to camp :)
So all the hard work of last week paid off :)
But really, I dont think I will eat a sugar cookie in long time..

So that was my week :)
Of course with all the baking for other people,
I had to make a dozen or two to take to Jake at work

They sold cookies and these cute rose candies :)
